HELPFUL TIPS:

Carry a boat hook on your wrecker. It helps pull recovery straps and chains under vehicles and through tight areas that cannot be reached with your arms. Charge extra for working in brush and poison ivy. Working in these areas slows you down, and you know that you are going to have to go home and shower and change (probably still get poison), so charge accordingly. To promote roadside safety, put the highly reflective conspicuity tape on the inside of the doors of your trucks so that they are visible when opening at night. Also do this to toolbox doors that may remain open along the roadside. Over the years, most of us have developed techniques and tools to make our jobs easier and safer.
